Day Two
- Devils Tower - Black Thunder Coal Mine - Durham Buffalo Ranch
Continental Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before we start our day
Tour of Devils Tower National Monument
which occupies 1,347 acres in the area near Sundance and contains Devils Tower.  The tower, a huge monolith resembling a colossal stone tree stump, rises 867 feet from its base. The 1.5-acre top has a growth of sagebrush and grass, and the almost perpendicular sides are fluted columns. The tower was formed when numerous sedimentary layers eroded from around a volcanic intrusion that had cooled in a teardrop formation. About a half-mile from the entrance is a large prairie dog colony.
Lunch is on your own this afternoon in Gillette after we get back from Devils Tower.
Travel southeast of Gillette to Thunder Basin to see the Black Thunder Coal Mine. This mine is the largest open pit coal mine in the United States. We will get to see large dragline equipment, huge trucks, and the enormous shovels that are used in Campbell County coal mining operations.
After the mine tour we travel north of Wright to visit the Durham Buffalo Ranch. While at the buffalo ranch we will tour their working operation and enjoy a delicious evening cook out.
Return to the hotel and retire for the evening.

Day Three - Campbell County Rockpile Museum - Eagle Butte Mine - Cattle Ranch
Continental Breakfast is included at the hotel again today before we start our day
Our first stop is a visit to the Campbell County Rockpile Museum. The museum shows us the history of Campbell County from the 1800's to present day. The museum tour includes a video about the coal mining process used in Campbell County. The museum also has a large farm equipment display.
Lunch is on your own this afternoon in Gillette after we finish at the museum.

Travel on to RAG Coal West, Inc. Here we will see a different type of coal mine operation. Eagle Butte Mine is a truck shovel operation not a dragline operation and they have a lot of different types of equipment.
Travel to a working Cattle Ranch North of Eagle Butte approximately 20 miles. At the ranch we will experience what it is like to make a living as a rancher in Wyoming. You will learn about ranching activities and to be able to see the animals close up. While at the ranch we will be served a ranch-style dinner, complete with western entertainment.
