Folklorama
is a delightful celebration to depict all the color, pageantry, tradition,
music, and authentic food of the various ethnic communities which make up
Winnipeg’s rich heritage. Billed as Canada's Festival of Nations, Folklorama
draws visitors from around the world. More than 750,000 visits are made to the
pavilions each year. Visitors are drawn over and over again by the sumptuous
food, the colorful costumes and performances of singing and dancing that are
rarely witnessed outside their countries of origin. Winnipeg
welcomed large numbers of immigrants from all over the globe, creating an ethnic
diversity that remains one of the city's principal characteristics. Winnipeg
encourages each group to preserve and share their cultures through Folklorama.
Each cultural community creates a pavilion that depicts the cultural heritage of
its people through entertainment, displays and cuisine. Visitors browse through
displays of cultural artifacts, see the ageless creations of folk artists, taste
food prepared from recipes handed down for generations and enjoy exciting
entertainment from the four corners of the world. Click here if this web page doesn't fully display Contact us at: Phone - 800-552-8857 ghusk@horizon-tours.com |
