Day
1 - Monday
Pickup everyone
and head for St. Louis, Missouri. Coffee, orange juice and muffins will be
served
on the motorcoach. Travel breaks
and a lunch (on your own) stop is scheduled for the day. Dinner is included at
Harrah Casino Hotel this evening in St. Louis, MO. Everyone is on their own this
evening to enjoy the casino.
Day
2 - Tuesday
Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before we depart Saint
Louis and drive to Nashville, Tennessee.
We
will arrive in Music Valley and check into our hotel. Everyone is on their own
for lunch and afternoon activities. Activities include: shopping at Opry Mills, the Willie Nelson and Friends Showcase Museum,
Music Valley Wax Museum, Ernest Tubb Record Shop and other shopping opportunities. We will shuttle everyone from Music
Valley to Opry Mills (the large shopping mall) near the Grand Ole Opry throughout the afternoon. Dinner
is on your own this evening before the show.
Grand
Ole Opry Museum - pays tribute to the world's longest-running radio show and its
legendary stars with exhibits honoring Patsy Cline, Marty Robbins, Tex Ritter,
Roy Acuff, Minnie Pearl, Little Jimmy Dickens and Jim Reeves.
The
Grand Ole Opry Show takes the excitement of a live audience and an incredible
mix of talent to the world, broadcasting live over 650 WSM AM and the Opry
website.
After the show we
will bus back to our hotel.
Day
3 - Wednesday
Breakfast
is included at the hotel this morning before we depart for our first tour. Visit
historic Studio B - where Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and many more recorded their hits. Then we stop at
the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum - Tour the largest popular music
museum in the world. The new $37 million building houses some of the world’s
best interactive exhibits. See rare
costumes, instruments and archival films.
Lunch
is on your own this afternoon either at the Hall of Fame or Honky Tonk Row.
At 2 pm we board the motorcoach for a tour of the City.
The tour includes a drive past the State Capitol building, Ryman
Auditorium, and the Parthenon.
This
evening we are scheduled aboard The General Jackson Riverboat for dinner and
entertainment. Our evening cruise
features Nashville's hottest country show "Now That's Country." The
General Jackson Showboat cruises the Cumberland River while you enjoy the sites
and sounds of the largest showboat in the world.
Day
4 - Thursday
Breakfast
is included at the hotel before we leave for Memphis. Lunch is on your own before we visit Graceland, home of the late-Elvis Presley. The
Graceland Mansion tour lets you journey through the professional and personal
life of Elvis Presley, known to the world as the King of Rock 'n' Roll. Tour his
private home and see the exhibits of his dazzling stage costumes, plus the hundreds of
record awards.
After
we check into our hotel we will wonder down to Beale Street "One of
America's most famous musical streets." It is located in the heart of downtown Memphis
with three blocks of more than 30 nightclubs, restaurants and retail shops.
Music includes traditional Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Jazz and Rock 'n'
Roll. Everyone is on their own this
evening to enjoy the legacy of this historic area.
Day 5 -
Friday
Breakfast
is included at the hotel before we leave for our first tour.
The National
Civil Rights Museum (located at the Lorraine Motel, the site of Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr.’s assassination) chronicles key episodes of the American civil
rights movement. The legacy of this movement has inspire participation in
civil and human rights efforts throughout the world.
Our
Memphis city tour will inform us about the history of this musical city and will
include the downtown/riverfront area, a drive by the Pyramid, St. Jude's
Hospital, Sun Studio, the Pink Palace, and other historic spots. Stop to see the
ducks march at the Peabody Hotel before lunch (on your own).
Depart
from Memphis and drive to Saint Charles, Missouri.
We
are going to spend the evening in historic downtown St. Charles.
You will have the opportunity to browse, shop, and dine in one of the
most beautiful historic area in Missouri.
Day 6 - Saturday
Today
we eat breakfast at our hotel before we depart for home.
We will take several travel breaks throughout the day and everyone will have an
opportunity to get lunch (on your own).
