ARRIVE FAIRBANKS
Today you board your flight to Fairbanks, where
you’ll receive a warm welcome and transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay.
Tonight, explore the city on your own soaking up the local flavor.

RIVERBOAT
DISCOVERY - EL DORADO GOLD MINE
Your first day in Alaska immerses you in the area's
history. Feel the frontier-friendly atmosphere of Fairbanks on a leisurely
cruise down the Tanana River aboard the sternwheeler "Riverboat
Discovery". Highlights include a visit to the Chena Indian village and the
home of Susan Butcher, three-time Iditarod dog sled race winner. We'll even see
an Alaskan bush pilot in action. Later, explore the El Dorado Gold Mine for a
ride aboard the Tanana Valley Railroad and back into the days of the gold rush.
Journey through a permafrost tunnel. Then take a walking tour of a mining camp.
Your luck is sure to pan out during your "hands on" adventure as you
pan for gold. The evening is free, so enjoy!

DENALI NATIONAL PARK
This morning, reload your camera for the rail trip to
Denali National Park. Nearby the exclusive Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge
features fine dining and attentive service. Overnight here for an unforgettable
two-night stay.

TUNDRA WILDERNESS TOUR - DENALI
A morning of adventure is yours on the in-depth Tundra
Wilderness Tour that takes you deep into the heart of the national park to the
best wildlife viewing and lookout points for Mt. McKinley. Watch for grizzly
bears, moose and Dall sheep. Relive the experience over dinner or cocktails by
the fire. Sweet dreams!

DENALI EXPRESS - WHITTIER - BOARD SHIP
Transfer to the rail station and ride the glass-domed
Denali Express. Experience fine dining, service and nonstop 360-degree views.
Arrive in Whittier where you'll embark your ship. The ship sets sail this
evening as you begin your Alaskan cruise. Prepare to be pampered!

Glide into
College Fjord where you are completely surrounded by 16 ice-blue glaciers.
Experience this peaceful world, where the silence is broken only by huge chunks
of centuries-old ice crashing into the sea.

SKAGWAY (PORT OF CALL)
Arrive in Skagway, once the gateway to the gold fields.
Memories of the gold rush are everywhere. The downtown Klondike Gold Rush
National Historic Park District is filled with local lore. Explore it on
foot or by streetcar with a costumed conductor who will weave spellbinding tales
of Skagway's cast of colorful characters.
The
Klondike National Historical Park commemorates the place where the
prospectors first arrived, gathered their supplies and headed over the Chilkoot
or White Pass Route to find fortune in the gold fields. You can follow their
lead aboard the vintage White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad or browse the
shops and saloons in town.

JUNEAU (PORT OF CALL)
Journey back in
time to the spot where Joe Juneau and Dick Harris found "streaks running
through the rocks and little lumps as large as peas or beans." The gold
didn't last, but Mendenhall Glacier and the attractions of frontier Juneau
continue to draw adventurers from around the world. This is the capital of the
state of Alaska and is a fascinating place to explore. Sightsee and shop in town
or choose from a wide array of optional shore excursions.

KETCHIKAN (PORT OF CALL)
Southeast
Alaska's "First City", Ketchikan is as picturesque as they come. The
town is built on piles out over the water and clings to the slopes of Deer
Mountain. Native culture abounds at Saxman Village and Totem Bight State Park.
Stroll down historic Creek Street to Dolly's House. Or venture outside town to
see a forest of hand-carved totem poles. Ketchikan, built out over the water and
set amidst the country's largest national forest, is also your gateway to Misty
Fjords National Monument via floatplane if you choose that optional excursion.
