Day 1 - ‘Empire Builder’ Amtrak to East Glacier

Bus to Minneapolis today and catch the Empire Builder (Amtrak Train) headed for Glacier National Park. Train is scheduled to depart at 10 pm.

(Overnight sleeping cabins and meals are included for your comfort.)

Day 2 - Arrive in East Glacier and check into our hotel.

The Amtrak train is scheduled to arrive around 7 pm in East Glacier.

Day 3 - Glacier National Park, Montana

Your entire day is devoted to exploring the wonders of Glacier National Park. Journey on the world famous "Going-to-the-Sun" highway into the heart of Glacier National Park. See St. Mary's Lake and the majestic Garden Wall, the cliff that makes up the central Continental Divide. Cross over Logan Pass. Look for wildlife. Stop at Lake McDonald. Continue to Montana's beautiful Flathead Valley, a favorite second home to many Hollywood stars. Overnight in East Glacier. Enjoy dinner.

Day 4 - Waterton Park

This morning we travel north journey into northwest Montana through some of the wildest remaining natural habitat in the United States. Montanans who live here share their backyards with grizzly bears, black bears, cougars, wolves, moose and elk. Cross the border into Alberta, Canada and enter Waterton Lakes. You are now in the world's first International Peace Park, formed in 1932 by combining Waterton Lakes Park in Canada with Glacier Park in Montana. Together, these parks form Waterton Glacier International Peace Park, a celebration of the longstanding friendship between Canada and the United States.  Overnight in Banff - dinner is included this evening - your hotel is next to cafes and shops. Enjoy a relaxing three night stay surrounded by the wild beauty of 2,500 square mile Banff Park.

Day 5 - Banff - Ice fields Parkway - Canmore

Today’s glorious adventure is on the world famous Ice fields Parkway. Photo stop at Athabaska Falls, which plunges into a steep limestone gorge. Visit the historic Saskatchewan River Crossing.

Day 6 - Moraine Lake, Lake Louise

This morning visit three beautiful Canadian lakes. Stop at Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Then, visit Lake Louise, known to the native people as "The Lake of the Little Fishes," with its glacier fed turquoise water from Victoria Glacier. Next, along the shores of Lake Minnewanka for a photo stop at Two Jack Lake. Stop at Bow River Falls.

Day 7 - Ice fields Snowcoach, Jasper

Waterfalls, glacier lakes and snow-capped mountains line this morning's drive along Ice fields Parkway, also home to grizzly and black bears, moose and caribou. Then, take a snow coach ride on the Columbia Icefield Glacier. The meltwater from the Columbia Icefield feeds streams that flow into three oceans: the Arctic, the Atlantic, and the Pacific. Here, you may walk on the icefield. Then, enjoy a nights stay in Jasper, your hotel along the banks of the Athabasca River, nestled in the midst of the vast, unspoiled grandeur of 4,200 square mile Jasper Park, Canada's largest park. Designated a World Heritage Site, the park contains beautiful Alpine scenery and abundant wildlife.

Day 8 - Jasper, Maligne Lake Cruise

Today starts with a scenic drive through Jasper Park to Maligne Lake, where you enjoy some of the best wildlife viewing in the Canadian Rockies. Look for mountain goat, moose, elk, bear, and bighorn sheep. Cruise on Maligne Lake. The largest lake in Jasper Park, Maligne Lake is 14 miles long and almost 300 feet deep. Stop near Spirit Island to see one of the most beautiful views in the world.

Day 9 - Jasper to Calgary 

Begin the day with a sightseeing tour of the area with stops at the spectacular BOW FALLS and the fascinating HOODOOS, land of sleeping giants. We motor out of the Canadian Rockies onto the flat prairies of ALBERTA. A short ride brings you to Calgary.

Day 10 - Calgary to East Glacier with a stop at Buffalo Jump

City tour of Jasper before we journey south to Alberta to Head-Smashed-ln-Buffalo-Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, for more than 5,500 years, the native people of the plains chased buffalo over a cliff. The buffalo provided food, shelter, and clothing.

Day 11 - ‘Empire Builder’ Amtrak to Minneapolis

Scheduled departure around 10 am on the Amtrak Train - Empire Builder takes us back to Minneapolis today.

Day 12 - Return everyone home today

Scheduled to arrive in Minneapolis around 8 am A motorcoach will meet us this morning at the train station to return everyone home.
