Tour of the Badlands National Park
south of Wall, South Dakota
Travel stop at Wall Drug for about an hour to shop and
browse
Check into our hotel in
Historic Deadwood. Dinner is included this evening.

Leave Deadwood for Devils Tower National Monument.
Lunch is included in Gillette after visiting Devils Tower.
Travel southeast of Gillette to Thunder Basin to see
Black Thunder Coal Mine. This mine is
the largest open pit coal mine in the United States. You will get to see large
dragline equipment and huge trucks.

After the mine tour we travel north of Wright to Durham
Buffalo Ranch. While at the buffalo ranch we
will tour the operation of a meat producing buffalo ranch and eat
supper.
Back to our
hotel in Gillette, WY.

3 - Thursday

Breakfast is included before we start our day.
Power Plant Tour - visit a coal
fired power plant east of Gillette and the coal mine that supplies the energy.
We tour the area around Gillette and visit the Campbell
County Rockpile Museum. The museum has history of Campbell County from the
1800's to present day. The museum includes a video about coal mining.
Lunch is included in Gillette after we finish at the museum.

Travel to RAG Coal West, Inc. At Eagle Butte Mine you will see a different
type of coal mine operation. Eagle Butte Mine is a truck shovel operation not
a dragline operation.
Travel to a working Cattle Ranch north
of Eagle Butte Mine approximately 20 miles. At the ranch we will experience
what it is like to make a living as a rancher in Wyoming. While at the ranch
we will be served a ranch-style dinner, complete with entertainment.
Back to our
hotel in Gillette, WY.

Day 4 - Friday

out and Continental Breakfast is included at the hotel.
Depart for home with travel breaks along the way.

of the two largest coal mines in North America; 3 nights of hotel
accommodations; admission to Campbell County Rockpile Museum; tour and dinner
at a working cattle ranch; tour and dinner at the Durham Buffalo Ranch; tour
of a coal generated power plant; lunch on day two and three are included;
continental breakfasts at our hotels; deluxe motorcoach transportation;
