Blue Hawaii ShowBLUE HAWAII DINNER SHOW
Make no mistake! Elvis is Alive!
A multimedia extravaganza of song and dance. Great fun for everyone!
During Elvis’s first visit to Hawaii, Hollywood reacted to the vibrant colors of the islands with flashy tropical decorations, brightly colored sarongs and colorful leis.

This unique interpretation of Hawaii in the 50’s is presented this evening.

Blue Hawaii Deluxe Dinner Show Jonathon Von Brana has been hailed by national media like Life magazine, Las Vegas Review and Los Angeles Times as one of the greatest living Elvis impersonators, and when you catch his Blue Hawaii show you'll understand exactly why! This talented young man belts out all of Elvis' greatest hits, backed by a world-class cast of exciting dancers and musicians. You'll have a great time singing along to romantic ballads and rock and roll anthems that the King himself made famous in the movies and concerts that he filmed right here in the Island.

DAY 5 FISH MARKET

tuna.jpg (39269 bytes)Tour begins before the birds or the sunrises in the east.  Bundled warmly with non-slip shoes you’ll witness a amazing showcase to Hawaii’s fishing industry,  This morning at the newly built and relocated United Fishery refrigerated facility, fishing boats will be unloaded, the fish weighed and labeled for sale.  The bell will open the bidding at 5:30am.  Ahi, Aku, Marlin, Wahoo, Swordfish, Opah, Monchong and Opakapaka will be iced and displayed on plastic pallets as they have in days gone by.  Dozens of commercial buyers will squeeze sample chunks of ahi to assess their firmness, color and desirable oil content before bidding.  You’ll see one whole tuna, much less a room full of them. Longline, deep-sea bottom fish and small-boat commercial fisheries both island and foreign supply the auction with as little as a few thousand pounds to as much as 160,000 pounds of fish on a daily basis.  The group would be divided up as our guide will lead us through this everyday business transaction. You’ll leave with new knowledge about that next can of tuna you purchase at the grocery store.

Before heading over to Kualoa Ranch, you’ll travel into the lush Nuuanu Valley as we drive into and through a tropical rainforest and through an actual tree tunnel.  We will stop for a continental breakfast of pastries, fruit, coffee and jucie at the famous Nuuanu Pali Lookout (“Cool Height Cliff”).  Described by Mark Twain as one of the most beautiful views on Earth, you will see the turquoise waters of  Kaneohe Bay and the jagged, 2000 foot vertical cliffs of the majestic Koolau volcano mountain range.  Overlooking the 985 foot cliffs of the pali, it was here in 1795 that King Kamehameha and his warriors defeated the O'ahu armies by sending them over these steep, forested cliffs and claiming his victory and uniting the Hawaiian Islands. The breathtaking sight and the gruesome history of the battle fought here is enough to cause a chill to run up your spine. Add to that the incredible winds that often pass through the Pali and you may be swept off your feet!

We will venture over the Pali to Kualoa Ranch.  Kualoa is one of the most historically significant destinations on Oahu, and in ancient times, one of the most sacred places on the island. In 1850, Dr. Gerrit P. Judd purchased the land from King Kamehameha III and the property has remained in the family every since.  The current family owners strive to be role model stewards of the ‘aina (land), by preserving and protecting it from development.  Kualoa means 'long back', with it’s deep valleys and beautiful mountains.

We’ll board an unconventional green bus for the Ranch/ Movie Set/Garden tour that will take you through the fascinating ranch complex,  view an old WWII military defense bunker made into a mini museum, with Hawaiian historical exhibits, drive by the old Sugar Mill established in 1863, and hear stories of the ranch's background with Hawaiian legends and more.

As we travel to Ka'a'awa Valley you'll see aquaculture ponds in the distance and pass by 30 acres of orchids grown for world-wide distribution. You may also see cattle grazing in the fields and you'll stop near the Hawaiian Village while the guide explains the different structures.

You'll continue deep into the valley where JURASSIC PARK, MIGHTY JOE YOUNG, PEARL HARBOR, WINDTALKERS and other feature films were made. There are remnants of some of the more recent films and guides will point out filming locations of previous movies. There are several stops for photographs so bring your camera.

From deep within the valley we’ll travel to the ocean shore and view tropical gardens and an ancient Hawaiian fishpond.  Learn the history of the land, the ancient people and the family who owns the land that Kualoa sits on.  We’ll enjoy our informative guide, who could just be one of the owners himself, a Polynesian prince or ranch hand, but all as entertaining and informative as the other.

On our return to the main ranch house, you’ll enjoy a scrumptious ranch style BBQ lunch, that can be enjoyed inside in cool air-conditioned comfort or on the veranda relaxing and overlooking the ocean and ranch with Chinaman’s Hat island in the background.  It’s ultimately unbelievable, to be a part of this paradise, to be standing beneath the beauty of these mountains with the blue pacific ocean at your feet.

It’s been a long morning and now you’ll travel back over the mountains to the city.  Enjoy the view and keep the memories of this forgotten paradise for you won’t be back this way for a long, long time.

EVENING 5 DON HO DINNER SHOW

Don Ho ShowCelebrate being in Hawaii with "Hawaii's Living Legend," the King of Hawaiian entertainment, Don Ho! Sit back and enjoy as Don Ho sits center stage at his Hammond Organ, caressing the keys, singing his favorite songs and "talking story" with the audience.

History:  In 1962, Don Ho began playing at Duke's in Waikiki.  Backing him were the sensational five Alii, playing piano, drums, two guitars, xylophone and doubling on half a dozen other instruments.  Don presided at the organ, a glass of scotch in his hand, a cigarette burning in the ashtray.  The music was outstanding; the humor was fast and snappy.

Don Ho Show Tourists came, but so did locals and, after a while, visiting Hollywood stars--any of whom might take to the stage.  Those rowdy years brought stardom to Don and made Duke's Hawaii's most popular nightclub.  In 1966, Don erupted on the national show biz scene when he broke all previous attendance records at Hollywood's Cocoanut Grove.  Other star turns naturally followed; return engagements at the Grove, feature spots at the Sands in Las Vegas, Harrah's at Lake Tahoe, the Palmer House in Chicago, the Americana Hotel's Royal Box in New York, TV guest appearances with Johnny Carson, Joey Bishop and Art Linkletter, and his own hour-long color TV special.
